We left the Florida panhandle and headed west as we wanted to visit with our son, Keenan in Houston. Look at the milestone that we passed on the way:
Traffic on I-10 was awful and it rained some of the way.
I guess that COVID-19 is over and that people are out and about again, particularly traveling for summer vacations.
Since we didn’t want to drive all the way to Houston in one day, we decided to stop in Breaux (Bro) Bridge, LA and stayed at the Cajun Palms RV Resort. We had stayed there once before a few years ago, but only for one night and it rained the entire time.
Our spot for the two days:
We did note the resort as a place were we wanted to try again for a few days because of the amenities. Here’s a picture of the site map:
Check out these pictures of some of the amenities:
An adult only hot tub! A swim up bar! We had to get our suits on and partake! We started at the swim up bar (and never made it to the hot tub) where we met a nice couple from Texas who were celebrating their second anniversary. Shay and Nicole Barnes were married on the same day and year as Ari and Matt were! We stayed there for a few hours and then decided to grab dinner at the local crawfish establishment.
After showering and changing, we picked them up and headed the 0.4 miles to Crawfish Town USA.
Since the crawfish weren’t running (do crawfish run?), we had to order alternative foods, like shrimp and chicken. The food was good and the conversation was excellent as we learned about the lives of our new friends.
Happy anniversary Shay and Nicole!
