We had a short drive down to Lexington, KY to stay at the Kentucky Horse Park. We wanted to get to Lexington because our friend’s, Yolanda and Jerry Davis, were hosting their niece’s, Andrea wedding to Will at their house over the weekend. Since we were in the area, the Davis’ invited us to join in the wedding activities. It’s very interesting to be invited to a wedding when you have never met the bride nor groom.

Since we arrived a day before any of the wedding activities, Katrina and I decided to tour the Woodford Reserve Distillery located a few miles down the road. Woodford Reserve is one of my favorites so I was excited to visit the distillery.

Katrina scheduled us for a tasting:

We learned all about how to taste whiskey, how the recipes are tweaked to create the different types, and we determined which one we liked the best. I continue to like the bourbon whiskey the best!

On the drive back, Katrina found a place for dinner from “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” located in Versailles, KY. The place was called Wallace Station and it was carry out only, so we ate on their patio between the raindrops.

The food was outstanding even though the venue wasn’t up to par.

The following day we were invited over to the Davis’ for dinner at their house after the rehearsal. It was a beautiful evening without rain were we ate, drank and danced on their outdoor patio:

I really enjoyed Jerry’s bourbon bar set up in their basement:

Jerry had a great time pouring different bourbons for us to try! Check out his ice cubes! No detail left unturned.

The next day the rain held off long enough so that the ceremony could be held outside as planned.

I didn’t know that Santa Claus officiated wedding! Beautiful couple and ceremony:

Meet the newly married couple, Will and Andrea Weinberg!

The rain started towards the end of dinner, where we were sitting outside, so we all ran inside to stay dry.

There, Jerry toasted the newly married couple that bought tears to more than one eye.

What a wonderful wedding! We are so thankful that we got invited and share in Andrea and Will’s vows.

The following evening we went back over to the Davis’ house for the final get together of the weekend. Yolanda whipped up a delicious meal and we got a chance to say goodbye to our friends, old and new alike.

Congratulations Andrea and Will! Thank you for letting us crash your wedding! It was beautiful!
