Since our spring vacation is not really part of our Busse Bus adventures, I won’t go into a lot of details regarding our trip. However, I did want to include a few highlights and pictures as it was part of our lives. Our children, Ari and Keenan were able to join us. Unfortunately, Ari’s husband Matt had to work and couldn’t be with us. We missed you Matt!

Our timeshare was completely remodeled after the hurricane Irma devastated it back in 2017. The rehab was fantastic:

The interiors were just as nice:

There are such beautiful sunsets:

I saw the green flash for the first time in my life! It was very cool!

Due to the pandemic, there were very few visitors to the island. The boardwalk in Philipsburg is usually bustling with cruise ship people, but no cruises were running. Check this out:

I’ve never seen the streets so empty, so sad.

We did get to see some nice yachts:

A lot of the restaurants were closed and out of business due to the hurricane and the virus. Very sad! However, new ones are springing up and it was fun to try new places. As well as hitting some of our past favorites, we found these new ones: Friar’s Bay Beach Bar, the Sand Bar, Roxxy’s and our new favorite – Jai’s Contemporary Indian.

We did hike up to the top of a knoll near our place and got these photographs:

The water tower that had been atop the knoll had been taken down and residences are now being built:

Katrina, Ari and Keenan took a sailing cruise around the island (I was “ill” from the previous evening) and took these pictures:

They had a wonderful time.

The best part of taking these vacations with our adult children is just reconnecting and enjoying each other’s company:

Great times!
