We left the Arizona wine country for the New Mexico hills and the Ruidoso Motorcoach Ranch (RMR). The RMR is a small 29 sited placed that sits atop a ridge overlooking the valley. Absolutely beautiful place!

Unfortunately, due to our waiting for the new wash machine, we didn’t get to spend as much time there as we wanted. There was a nice trail that cut through the property where Bear loved to walk and see the deer.

Boy, he sure wanted to play with them. They ran off so apparently they didn’t want to play with Bear.

Check out this beautiful sunset from the ridge:

Absolutely breathtaking place!

On the drive over we stopped at Pistachioland to buy some nuts and to get our picture with the World’s largest pistachio:

Now, that’s big!

We also passed by the White Sands National Park

that we decided to go back and explore the following day. This area looked like snow:

The funniest aspect to us was the people who had saucers and were sliding down the hills like back up north in the winter (but in shorts and t-shirts).

On the drive back we wanted to stop at the New Mexico Museum of Space History but it was closed due to COVID. There was a space museum in Alamogordo due to the missile testing site in the White Sands. We did stop at a roadside stand to get some green hatch chilis – famous in New Mexico.

They only had 50 pound bags – way too big for the Busse Bus and two people. Therefore, we had to pass.

We got back to the coach with enough time to let Bear out and play a bit before we headed back into the quaint town of Ruidoso for dinner. We had wanted to go to a steakhouse, but it had closed (probably due to COVID). We changed our plans and found a burger joint called Anaheim Jacks. I ordered a chicken fried green hatch burger because I thought it sounded interesting:

It was outstanding, but too big for me to finish – looking forward to lunch the next day.

After dinner we headed back to the coach so that we could get ready to go the next morning.
