We stayed at the Square Dance Center Campground

located in Lolo, MT. Unfortunately, due to COVID, there wasn’t any square dancing going on. At least I didn’t feel the need to buy a new western dance wear outfit!

The campground is a beautiful place tucked in between the pine trees. Two problems with that were: 1) not satellite and 2) no sewer lines. At least there was power and electric.

They also offered frolf (frisbee golf) and whiffle golf – never heard of that before.

We had a flat tire on the Ram. Took it off and Stan drove me over to a local tire repair shop. We could not find the leak and assumed that it was due to the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) valve. Hopefully, that’s it!

Played Rummikub every night. What a great game!

Katrina got her nails done at a local place so I drove her over because I didn’t trust the tire. While I was waiting for her I ventured into the Lolo Peak Brewery & Grill.

Nice place with somewhat decent beers. I did not like the one infused with cucumber (I knew I wouldn’t but the bartender talked me into tasting it).

Another dinner at the campsite – leftover ribs!

The following day we took a nice bike ride from Lolo to Florence (great bike path along the valley) where we stopped for breakfast at Glen’s Cafe. Wonderful meal, although I ate too much of my breakfast burrito!

In the afternoon Katrina and Lynne got their hair cut and ran some errands while I lounged around the campsite with Bear. We did finally find the entrance to the West Fork Lolo Creek and I let Bear play in the water:

We headed up to Missoula to have dinner at Jakers.

We got to sit outside as it became a little cooler in the evening. Very pretty location!

Jakers was a steakhouse and I ordered the nightly special – 14oz. New Yorker. Really great! We also learned from our excellent server, Bobby, that the movie “A River Runs Through It” was filmed in Missoula. I highly recommend trying this place out!

Since we got back late, we decided no Rummikub that night. Out the next morning to head north up towards Glacier National Park and hopefully some cooler weather.
