Leaving Saratoga, WY we drove up to Casper to stay at the Harvest Host – Johnson Tree Farm. I expected to be surrounded by trees but soon after arriving I realized that the only trees on the property were around the hosts’ house. I am not sure why they called themselves a tree farm when all I saw were hay fields for the horses.
Our host was very nice and let Bear play off leash. He had a ball and found that they had cats. It was hilarious to see a cat come running around their garage with Bear in full chase mode. It was hard to keep him focused on us after that. Since there wasn’t much to do in the area, we kept near the coaches and relaxed for the evening and had a great sunset:
Since this Harvest Host didn’t have anything to sell (Harvest Hosts are free but they recommend that you pay homage to the host, buy a bottle of wine, try a flight of craft beer, etc.). This one asked us for a $30.00 donation for National Arbor Day. Sounds very fishy to me! I cannot recommend this Harvest Host.
