After leaving Disney (sadly, I may add) we headed up to Jacksonville.  We stayed at the Pecan Park RV Resort that is expanding by adding another 100+ sites.

Pretty place that will add more grandeur once the additions are complete.  The major problem with the park is that it is in the direct path of a runway for the airport.  We got a site right next to our friends, Glen and Deb Hooten who we met the Newmar FullTimers Rally in New York.

The four of us went out for dinner at the Mellow Mushroom – second time that we tried that pizza joint, the first being in Alaska.  Not bad pizza, even from a Chicago boy.

The next day we had to take a down day to complete our 2019 taxes.  Thank goodness for electronically submissions!

We took Bear over to the dog park to run off some energy (the dog, not the parents).

That night we had dinner with Wendy Nagel and her boyfriend, Ervin at River & Posts – very good.  He could have been my twin – clothes, boots etc.

Wendy was another BeautiControl gal that Kat knew 27 years ago in Chicago.

The next day we took Bear to the Pet Paradise for a spa day – complete with dog pool.  Such a clean and good smelling doggie now.

Corona virus news going crazy.  Sporting events being cancelled or postponed.  Figures, U of I would have made it to the March Madness for the first time in 15 years and it gets cancelled.  Stopped and got some toilet paper because all the crazies out there are buying it all up!  Really, TP?  Bought 420 rolls, so we are all set!  Just don’t know where to store them.  I could replace the drivers chair and put them there?  Also, got some Aloe Vera and Alcohol (no, not that kind) to make our own sanitizer – can’t be too careful these days.

Headed to Amelia Island to sit on the beach and have lunch.  On the way there we saw advertisements for new homes with RV garages so we stopped and looked.  Only one model with a garage big enough for the ole Busse Bus.  Got to drive onto the beach for parking – Four wheel drive recommended.

Of course, there were so people that thought that sign didn’t apply to them.  Had to help push them through the deeper sand – a lot like deep snow up north.  Had lunch at Sliders Seaside Grill

while watching a guy play the guitar and sing.

Yep, Kat got him to sing “Turn The Page”!

We met Linda Oliver for dinner at Cantina Laredo.  Linda is another BeautiControl gal.

Seems that they are spread out all over the country and we have to stop by and see them.  Kind of feels like the Eagles’ “Hell freezes Over” tour.

Heading out the next morning north to Jekyll Island.
