We stayed at the Wilmington KOA which was nice and it was good to be back by the ocean.
The only problem was while we were there they were paving the streets between the sites.
It was a bit scary seeing these paving trucks and machinery so close to the Busse Bus. I gotta say that they did a fantastic job! And didn’t hit us even once!
Had a nice seafood dinner at the Oceanic in Wrightsville Beach, right on the ocean! Nothing like seafood whilst you are sitting next to the sea.
They was a little coffee roaster in the building out front and I made my way over the next morning to grab a cup of joe.
Cute place and the coffee wasn’t bad, and the pumpkin muffin was really delish! You can tell that it is autumn when pumpkin is available everywhere.
We headed over to Carolina Beach for food and to stroll on the boardwalk – it is touted as the longest on the Atlantic coast. It wasn’t.
We did stop for drinks at the Carolina Smokehouse which overlooked the boardwalk:
Walked on the boardwalk at Carolina Beach and had drinks and an appetizer (Boom Boom Shrimp – lovely) at the Carolina Smokehouse and then dinner at Sea Witch.
Scary Halloween decorations! Since we weren’t terribly hungry, we ordered the Ahi Tuna Nachos. Outstanding! House made wontons for the chips!
Next, we drove over to Wilmington Riverwalk and had drinks at Cloud Nine on the roof of the Embassy Suites hotel. Beautiful sunset and aerial views of the Battleship North Carolina.
Up and out early to head to a Harvest Hosts about 50 miles away.
