Olde Beau is a golf community just outside of Sparta, North Carolina. The newest section is a RV Lot ownership concept called Laurel Branch with 19 lots for sale. We learned about the place from Glen and Debbie Hooten who we met at the Newmar FullTimers’s Rally last month. We got to stay there for three nights for free on a ‘Discovery Visit”. And we got parked right next to Glen and Debbie!
Beautiful place:
For dinner, Glen and Debbie took us to Crave for Italian food in Sparta, NC.
Great food!
The next morning Kat and I drove to Johnsburg to have breakfast with Rachel Horton and her fiancé, Daimeyon. We ate at Breakfastime and it was excellent!
It was nice to catch up with Rachel. Kat even got to help her look at wedding dresses!
Spent the rest of the day doing maintenance on the Busse Bus. Cleaned out the downspouts, sanitized the fresh water tank, cleaned out the dryer vent, checked the oil, checked the transmission fluid, and removed the travel stickers on the replaced chrome trim.
We had dinner at the Olde Beau Clubhouse with the Hooten’s, Gary and Karen – owners of Lot 1, Dennis and Janet who were also on their Discovery Visit, and us. We learned that Olde Beau was the actual name of the original developer’s dog. Very nice dinner – great folks and food!
We got to lounge around the entire next day because of all the fog. Nice and peaceful! Kat and Debbie ran over to the gym to attend a yoga class. When she got back we packed up the Busse Bus and boondocked down the street. We arose early, like 5:30am, and drove down to the Freightliner repair shop in Statesville as we had a “check engine” light come on.
Overall a very enjoyable stop! Thank you Debbie and Glen for sharing your little piece of paradise and your farewell picture:
