We left our Nation’s Capitol and drove up to the Philadelphia area and stayed at the South Philly KOA in Clarksboro, N.J.  A pretty nice place:

It was then last day that the pool was open for the season so we spent the afternoon lounging around and catching some rays.  Nice way to spend the afternoon.

The next day we went into the city to do a bit of exploring.  First up, the Liberty Bell:

I don’t think that it must sound very good anymore as it has a huge crack in it!  Walked over to see Independence Hall:

Lots of American history occurred here!  There are original documents of the Declaration of Independence:

Not quite legible in the photos, but you get the “picture”.  Next we walked to Love Park and on the way we saw the largest government building for a city hall:

It was very impressive – French Style.  At Love Park we got to see famous “Love” sculpture.

It is much smaller than I thought it would be.  The park also is home to the “I Love Philly” sculpture:

We walked back towards Independence Hall and had a very nice dinner at Talulas Garden.  Got to sit outside between two buildings.  We couldn’t decide on what to order and ended up getting four appetizers.

I got a local beer that had a very interesting pop top:

Headed home after a wonderful dinner – thanks Kevin and Kathleen for recommending this place!

We enjoyed another easy day before heading back into Philly for dinner and a show.  We had to try an official Philly Cheesesteak so we headed to Jim’s Steaks.  I thought that the cheesesteak was good, it reminded me of a greasy Italian beef from Portillo’s.  I guess I’m a Chicago boy at heart as I prefer the Chicago beef.

We got tickets to see the play “Young Frankenstein” because I loved the movie growing up.  The play was at the Walnut Street Theatre – the oldest playhouse in the English speaking world!

Very funny play with almost all the tag lines from the movie.  It was hard not to say the words as they were being spoken.

Back home to the Busse Bus as tomorrow we are off to get our furniture replaced.
