Drove over to Guilford, Connecticut and stayed at another Harvest Host location – Bishop’s Orchard. A very nice market with U-Pick-Em fruits.
Besides the market, they had a small pen with alpacas. Nice place. After shopping in the market we determined that we needed to make a Costco run for some necessities – the only problem was that the nearest store was about 1/2 hour away.
On the way back we stopped in New Haven at the Long Wharf as we saw multiple food trucks lined up. We pulled in and saw this war memorial before heading over for food:
We ordered a spicy mango dessert that was really interesting.
It would have been better if the mangoes were a little riper.
Back near Bishop’s we found a wonderful dog park for Bear, who made some new friends:
Bear still had some energy, but was hot. One guy at the dog park told us about a creek not too far away and walked with us down the path. Bear was able to splash around for awhile and was then a happy camper – pun intended!
Back to the Busse Bus to get some sleep as we were heading to New York City the next morning and I wanted to be well rested before driving in the city.
