After our fantastic stay in Paso Robles, we headed out again by ourselves leaving friends behind, but gathering awesome memories. Another full-timer told us that what we have done is traded in possessions for experiences. I’m realizing that that statement to all true and I love the experiences that we are gathering in!
The alone time allowed us to catch up on much needed activities like laundry, deep cleaning of the Busse Bus and grocery shopping. Our jeep is still in San Francisco at the Jeep Dealer who says that the engine froze. Good news is that since our jeep only has 24,000 miles and is a 2016 that it is still covered under warranty. They ordered a new engine so we are waiting for them to install it and check it out. Now, instead of driving back up to San Francisco we need to have it hauled down to us. Driving two vehicles sucks! Maneuvering around Los Angeles in the Busse Bus solo is extremely hard. I think that these are the narrowest lanes I’ve ever seen.
We stayed at the Golden State RV Resort right on the water. Pretty location!
Keenan surprised us by extending his layover in LAX for twelve hours so we had a chance to see him all day. Picked him up early with the dogs
and headed over to Venice beach to check out the scene. A bit deserted as it was in the AM, but still nice to walk around and see the activities.
We headed out to have the famous “Best Fish Tacos” in the city as stated in the film “I Love You, Man”. Ordered the fish tacos – outstanding!
After lunch we headed over to Santa Monica Pier to take in the sights. Beautiful looking at the ocean and turning around to see the city. Across the water we could see Malibu – had I known that the next day it would get engulfed in flames I would have taken a picture. Yes, we saw the glow from the deadly fires and kept a watchful eye on which way the fires were headed. A little scary after now knowing all the destruction this fire caused.
We found a nice bar that just opened along the beach and sat down for a few drinks before having to take Keenan back to the airport. Sad to have Keenan leave, but it was great to catch up with him for at least a few hours.
Thanks for extending your trip and spending some time with the P’s!
