Leaving the ocean front to head inland to stay at the Durango RV Resort in Red Bluff, CA of which we read was one of the top ten in the country. We had to drive through some mountains weaving our way through the switchbacks. Kat stated that I needed to take them slower and I felt like I was crawling. We changed positions and I think that we both learned that driving in the mountains is harder than you would think and that being a passenger feels much different than hanging onto the steering wheel.
We went across and into Redding, CA which had a wildfire burning and we were able to see the damage – houses built down, car burnt out, trees and vegetation scarred. Lots of smoke to contend with – not very nice views.
We had a very nice time recharging at the Resort. We were able to get a massage during the evening. The resort had bocce ball, basketball courts, hot tub, spa, swimming pool and was on the river. Beating the sun in the cool water of the pool was such a treat.
This park really lived up to the hype! Highly recommend it!
