The Riverview RV Park in Badger, Alaska just outside of Fairbanks is a nice place to stay. Good thing because we had eight days booked here. Time to catch our breathe, stock up on supplies, and wait for the kids to come join us for a week. It is very hard to get a picture of the sunset in Alaska in July as it has only about four hours of nighttime and even during that time it is more dusky than dark. Katrina and I would walk the dogs about midnight and wonder where everyone else was – sleeping of course! Here’s a couple of pictures of the park:
On the park’s property we were able to watch a beaver build a lodge and we saw a couple of bald eagles in the distance.
On Monday Katrina was working so I took a bike ride and rode all the way to the North Pole!
It was well worth it! Santa was on holiday but I did get to see the city. I’m sworn to secrecy regarding the elves, so don’t ask. I can tell you that reindeer are real although they were grounded whilst I was there for some unknown reason.
Our children are on the way up so I need to return and get to the airport. Apparently planes aren’t grounded.
