When you are in the west for the Fourth of July and take in a parade you expect to see a lot of horses. That’s exactly what we witnessed. A very different type of parade than we are used to in the Midwest. No marching bands, no twirling batons, nor old men in funny little cars. Just old fashion Americana:
They do throw candy like back home. I had to get physical with an eight year old who thought he could beat me to the snickers bar. Nothing that a little bactine wouldn’t fix.
Our neighbors told us about the delicious burgers in town and that they go there every time they are in West Yellowstone. Had to try them so I had a Big Beautiful Bite of a Bison Burger at Buckaroo’s Bill’s:
I guess my palate is a bit off, at least the dogs enjoyed the remaining half.
Grabbed our chairs, drinks and dogs and headed to the park to watch the band and fireworks with our new friends: Glenn and Stevens. The band was pretty good and the fireworks excellent:
Fireworks photos were too blurry to share and looking at this photo of me I look a bit “blurry” as well. Made Katrina drive home.
After the fireworks I notice how many stars are out in the night sky when there is no light pollution around. Amazing, truly amazing.
