Breathtaking!  Amazing day in upper Yellowstone although we didn’t make it all the way to to Mammoth Springs – had to save something for the next trip.

Beautiful waterfalls:

The Yellowstone River has two falls, upper (top right) and lower (bottom right) which then flow into the “The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone”.   There is a viewing platform for the upper falls right on top of the falls – very unique position to see the water rushing by. I have to say that hearing all that rushing water made me have to make another stop!

Fountain Geysers spew water or make mud bubble as gas is being released.  The mud ones would make an excellent spa if the temperature wasn’t 140 degrees.

Fountain geyser pictures coming tomorrow so stayed tuned.

We were lucky enough to get some photos of wildlife.  I think these are real and not animatronics like at Disney.

Elks drinking from the river, a fox looking for food and a mama bear with two or three cubs.  Not sure how many because the park ranger made us return to our cars because the mama started moving and it became dangerous.  Had to add in Katrina’s photo of the bear or Bigfoot – you decide:

When we were driving out of the park, a ranger rerouted our cars because there was a small herd of bison camped out on one lane of the road.  I took a video which can be seen at our facebook page: rvtravelingwiththebussebus.  Check it out!
