Our first visitors to the Busse Bus were our good friends from Delaware, Kevin and Kathleen Fluharty. It is only fitting as we have been traveling with them for a couple of decades. Kathleen and Katrina both worked at BeauiControl and earned trips that us husbands were able to enjoy with them. As a husband on one of these reward trips, it is very hard to remember everyone names so I ended up nicknaming people. Kevin is Flounder and Kathleen is Shakes to me, have been since our first cruise together and always will be. I’d go into how they each earned their respective nicknames, but that is truly another tale and not part of this journey.
We call ourselves “Flusse” when we travel. FLuharty and bUSSE combined. I’m taking the “u” so we outnumber them for the win, but in reality it could go to them for the tie.
Rained most of the time that Flusse’s were together; however, it didn’t seem to dampen our fun. Went into Central City and took old-time photo:
Katrina and Shakes were “Sporting Girls”, Flounder a cowboy, and I was a gambler. Corny, but fun. The owner opened up her shop just for us because it was Sunday and there wasn’t much else going on in town.
I’m getting accused of cheating at cards. If you know me, you know that can’t be true. Never mind the ace up my sleeve.
Indoor activities are always a good way to beat the rain. Gambling can get expensive and cheating intolerable.
