What a great great campground! Twin Fountains RV Park. This is Glamour Camping or Glamping at it’s finest. Fishing pond, miniature golf, pool, hot tub, bar & grill, salon, pet grooming, fitness center, horseshoes and spa. I need to find more places like this one.
Upon arrival we talked with our neighbors and found out that a lot of the campers were there for the Women’s College World Series being held at the softball fields about one mile away. Had to go. Tonight’s game is the second of the championship with Florida State beating Washington in game one of the best of three series. We rooted for FSU in honor of Macy Jerger seeing them in the second NCAA Championship in just over a month. Rode our bikes over and got tickets from a very nice lady, Nancy who sat in front of us with her daughter and explained the intricacies of the game to us. FSU won! Go Noles!
The next late afternoon we had a chance to go to the National Memorial Museum in Oklahoma City that honors and educates visitors on the Oklahoma Bombing of the Federal Building in 1995. Wonderful museum and grounds – well put together. I thoroughly enjoyed the educational aspect of the museum instead of just the historical facts of what happened. I honestly didn’t remember the details as the bombing occurred a few weeks before Keenan was born so it was good to have read about it.
If you can’t remember the details either: Timothy McVeigh did the bombing with aid from Terry Nicholas. Killed 168 people and injured 680 others. The blast damaged 324 buildings within a 16-block radius. They were dis-enfranchised with the ATF and the government in general after the Waco, TX Branch Davidians incident. McVeigh was executed in June 2001. Worse domestic terrorism attack in US history.
